Louise Vidaurri
I am fascinated by visual art. It surrounds us every day—an intriguing shadow on a wall, puffy clouds drifting by overhead, and of course the vibrant colors of spring and fall. The radiance of life illuminating our world is truly a gift that has awakened my creativity in ways I could not have imagined.
In 2020 I had recently retired from a long, successful career in real estate. I felt called to tap into my inner desire to create in some kind of artistic expression. Then the pandemic hit and I, like so many others, suddenly was thrust into isolation away from family and friends. So I began taking long walks to the American River through my beautiful tree-lined neighborhood.
Seeing a few bare trees in stark relief against the winter sky, I began taking pictures with the camera in my phone. Then I began to play with the photos on my computer. I discovered some apps to help me edit the colors, shadows, and highlights. Suddenly a new form of artistic expression emerged. I experimented with adding and blending different colors and images to reveal something new and unexpected about the intrinsic beauty of a tree, a flower, and other subjects.
I began posting my digital art on social media and was amazed by the positive response I got from friends and colleagues. A former real estate associate asked me for a customized version of one image in a different color. With my previous experience in real estate, I developed an appreciation for texture, balance, and color in both interior and exterior design. I can have my images printed on different surfaces such as canvas and acrylic. Metal surfaces work especially well with my technique. I am now capturing my images with a Nikon mirrorless camera.
Please explore my website to get a better sense of what I have to offer. I am always thrilled to work with new clients to bring my special art into their homes and businesses. Even though the pandemic has been hard on us, it revealed to me a hidden blessing and a beautiful world of creative expression. I invite you to join me on this fun and exciting journey.
